Study CoursesClonlea Yoga Studio offers study courses for students who wish to explore Yoga further, either for personal development or as a path towards Practitioner Teacher Training. Asana and Beyond workshop2-day introductory workshop over a Saturday and Sunday Duration: 2 days The next Asana and Beyond workshop will be taught by Eleanor Dawson. Over two days the core principles and practices of yoga will be explored and experienced. A year's experience of yoga is required The aYs (Association of Yoga Studies) Introductory Study Course "Certificate of Completion" will be awarded to students who have completed the two days. For more information click here Contact: Foundation CourseDuration: 5 weekends over an eight month period The Foundation course is led by Hanne Gillespie. Over the course of five weekends students will be guided through the teachings that inspire the Viniyoga approach. The main themes in the Yoga Sutras will be studied, as well as the principles that inform the practice of asana and pranayama. Students will also be introduced to chanting. Successful completion of the Asana and Beyond Introductory Workshop, or an equivalent, is required to undertake the Foundation course. The aYs (Association of Yoga Studies) Foundation Course Certificate will be awarded to students who have completed the course. Contact: Practitioner Teacher Training Progamme5th November 2010 - 2012 Duration: 17 meetings (15 weekends and 2 five days) over 18 to 24 months The Practitioner Teacher Training Programme will be run principally by Hanne Gillespie using material from the research of Sadhana Mala. Sessions on anatomy and physiology will be taught by Lisa Petersen. The course offers a thorough grounding in the basic elements of yoga practice such as asana, pranayama and meditation appropriate for teaching group classes in a modern context. Each student will practice teaching within the group. Through the programme students will gain a strong foundation in the Yoga Sutra and other key texts such as the Upanishads, Bhagavad Gita and Hatha Yoga Pradipika. Successful completion of the Foundation Course or an equivalent is required to undertake the Practitioner Teacher Training Programme The course is accredited by the BWY (British Wheel of Yoga) and recognised by theaYs (Association for Yoga Studies) Contact: |
