Sinéad Duffy

Sinéad Duffy discovered yoga while living in Africa. She very quickly moved to India and qualified in Vivekananda Ashram in Bangalore, India in 2003. Since returning to Ireland she has done further study with Donna Farhi, Trish Malone, Uma Dinsmore-Tuli.

Sinéad has two small children and is currently focused on teaching peri-natal yoga (pregnancy yoga, post-natal yoga, mama-baby yoga and baby massage). She believes that the peri-natal period is the perfect time to discover yoga or to deepen one's practice, as during this period the frontal brain is quieter and the instinctive and meditative back brain is more awake. Sinéad is also qualified with the International Association of Infant Massage.

At Clonlea Studios Sinéad teaches Mama-Baby yoga and Baby Massage. She is available for private classes of pregnancy yoga, post-natal yoga, mama-baby yoga and baby massage.

Mama-baby yoga

Six week course
€100 per course
Friday 10.00-11.00

Mama-baby yoga is a relaxed post-natal class designed to help new mums restore their posture, strength and balance. We focus on postural re-alignment, relieving tension in the neck and shoulder area and in strengthening the core. Yoga for baby will stimulate motor skills, co-ordination, body-awareness, confidence, communication and bonding. We also practice baby-friendly breathing and relaxation techniques to help bring a sense of calm and equilibrium – all while having fun with baby and meeting other new mums.

Feel free to come to the class as soon as you feel ready – and you can keep coming for as long as you and baby are happy to do so. Classes are run on a 6 week basis, but you can join at any time.

Baby massage

Four week course
€120 per course
Friday 11.00-12.00

Baby massage is a 4 week course in which you will learn specific strokes and stretches for baby during this period of rapid growth and development. Baby massage promotes neurological development of motor skills and coordination. Massage promotes regular sleep patterns, reduces colic and 'fussiness'. It also improves baby's skin condition. It greatly helps in baby's overall health and development and assists in weight gain.

You will learn the complete baby massage routine over the 4 weeks as well as a specific colic routine and some therapeutic techniques. You will also receive the massage manual and organic massage oil.

Note: Baby massage is now funded through certain Quinn VHI and VIVAL maternity schemems. These schemes will cover most of the cost of the course.
