Group
Classes
The groups take into account whether you are a beginner or someone with previous experience. The classes are run weekly over three terms. Beginners class can be from 5 to 10 weeks. Ongoing classes run normally from 10 to 12 weeks. Set out below are guidelines as to the development of the classes:-
- Beginner's class presents the basic principles of practice. It involves learning core postures with the appropriate use of the breath. Sound and simple meditative practices are introduced.
- Mixed class, for beginners and ongoing students, continues to involve the core postures, with appropriate use of the breath. Sound and simple meditative practices, together with seated breathing and chanting, are introduced.
- Established class is for those who are established in their own practice and who want to explore and stretch their abilities in a more dynamic, or at times, depending upon the practice, a more subtle way. Seated meditation practices are developed with seated breathing and chanting.
- Gentle yoga class is for those whose energy or mobility is limited. Students work with movement, breath and relaxation in a gentle, therapeutic way.
Classes take place
at Clonlea Yoga Studio, 28b Sydney Avenue. It is
purpose built and set in a tranquil environment away from the hustle and bustle of Blackrock.
